This Giving Day, join us in making a lasting impact on our community by supporting Stony Brook students as they partner with Habitat for Humanity to address housing insecurity by building homes on Long Island. Your contribution will provide essential materials, transportation and Habitat for Humanity fees, enabling students to build homes and hope for families in need.
Who We Are
The Center for Service Learning and Community Service at Stony Brook University empowers students to engage with their community through meaningful service projects. This year, we’re partnering with Habitat for Humanity to offer students the opportunity to directly combat housing insecurity while developing leadership skills and a sense of civic responsibility.
What We Are Doing
We are organizing several trips to Habitat for Humanity building sites, where students will work alongside Habitat staff and community members to construct homes for families on Long Island. Through these efforts, students will gain hands-on experience and make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
How You Can Help
Your support on Giving Day will directly fund the resources needed for this impactful project. Funds raised will be used to:
- Provide transportation for student volunteers to and from the building sites.
- Cover Habitat for Humanity fees ($500 per build is required) and purchase materials, tools and equipment for the projects.
