WUSB radio — where decades of sound shape the voices of tomorrow.
When you support our non-commercial radio station, you’re investing in education, culture and community, and harnessing the true power of community partnership. You’re helping to empower students, uplift local artists and keep independent media alive. You become a key player in preserving a vital resource that educates, informs and entertains the community, all while showing your commitment to the values of creativity, independence and social responsibility.
Let’s work together to make a lasting impact. With your support, we can continue to inspire future generations, strengthen our community and ensure that non-commercial radio remains a vital force for good.
For almost 48 years, WUSB 90.1-FM has been sharing music for the mind and stories for the times, serving Stony Brook University and the surrounding Long Island listening community. We provide exceptional public service announcements and emergency alerts — the news and information that benefits you, our listeners.
You have allowed WUSB to bring you both new music and old classics, as well as to share Seawolves sports and special interest podcasts. We have interviewed the people who have important, inspiring and informational stories to share. We have helped fill blood banks, reminded people how great our public libraries are, and told you where to find farmers markets, healthy living and advocacy support services — all while keeping you entertained with our WUSB broadcast and streaming radio.
Your impact enables us to:
- Train hundreds of students entering the workplace.
- Obtain critical broadcasting equipment and maintain multiple frequencies to ensure you have 24/7 on-air access.
- Provide career, internship and volunteer opportunities for University and local community members.
- Broadcast live music from all across Long Island and beyond, including the Staller Center, the Long Island Museums, the Jazz Loft, The Long Island Music Hall of Fame, the shores of Patchogue and Port Jefferson, art galleries, vineyards, nightclubs and more!
This experiment that kicked off in 1977 remains a force, thanks to your support.
